Sir Robert DowlingSir Robert Dowling has extensive experience as a Headteacher in Birmingham where he worked for more than 32 years until he retired in 2011 for the 3rd time! He founded Selly Oak Special School in Birmingham, which became the biggest of its kind in Europe and a leading centre for teaching dyslexic children. He brings extensive experience of secondary education to the Trust. |

Dr Elspeth Insch OBEElspeth Insch has taught in comprehensive, independent and grammar schools and for twenty three years was Head of King Edward VI Handsworth School. She has been awarded a Fellowship from the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust for Exploration and Adventure, an OBE for Services to Education and an Honorary D Sc. She was appointed Vice President of the Royal Geographical Society and has served as a governor of Aston University and University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Trust. |

Councillor Sarina YounasCouncillor Sarina Younas is a Labour representative for North Edgbaston Ward on Birmingham City Council, elected in May 2026. She brings a strong background in community engagement, currently working as a Community Engagement Officer managing over 100 local projects and fostering partnerships across the community. With experience in political and campaign roles in both the UK and the United States, she has led large-scale engagement initiatives and communications strategies. She previously served as a Senior Caseworker for a Birmingham MP, developing expertise in policy and public services. A local resident and alumna of George Dixon Academy, she is deeply committed to improving opportunities for her community. She holds a Master’s degree from Keele University and a Bachelor’s in History from Newman University, underpinning her commitment to inclusive, community-focused leadership. |
